PROJECT
UWA EZONE STUDENT HUB
Set to redefine how the Engineering and Mathematical Sciences schools research and engage with the community, the University of Western Australia’s new EZONE is an architectural accomplishment. Poised to foster innovation and collaboration for STEM fields, the state-of-the-art building is an incredible achievement both in the architectural and sciences industry.
Designed by Hassell, standout features include the versatile learning studios, which seamlessly blend technology and ergonomic design to create an optimal environment for education. These spaces are complemented by a welcoming café, perfect for casual interactions and intellectual exchanges. The architectural ingenuity extends outdoors, where meticulously crafted areas serve as extensions of the learning environment, encouraging both social and personal reflection.
Pavement Innovations were engaged to supply the durable Bautek Rigid Bound system which includes the BOND, BED and GROUT products used for various high-traffic paved areas. Additionally, the widely-used JOINTSET product was incorporated into this project.
UWA’s new building is not just a space for learning – it is a catalyst for transformation, a beacon of modern architecture, and a cornerstone for the future of STEM education.
