BOOLA KATITJIN, MURDOCH UNIVERSITY
The Boola Katitjin building at Murdoch University in Perth, designed in collaboration with Lyons Architects, stands as a landmark achievement as Western Australia’s first large-scale mass engineered timber structure.
Spanning over 130 metres and rising four stories, this innovative building is constructed using a fully renewable timber framework, setting a new standard in sustainable architecture.
Pavement Innovations contributed to the project by supplying the Bautek Bound system, featuring BOND, BED, and GROUT products, tailored for high-traffic paved areas. The project also utilised the Unbound JOINTSET product, ensuring durability and performance.
Blending architecture, design, and sustainability, Boola Katitjin beautifully reflects the natural essence of Western Australia and honours the legacy of Murdoch University's original bush campus.
